Smith is passionate about optimizing leadership performance in the individual leader as well as his or her team using the most technologically advanced whole systems interaction tools. As a pioneer in the coaching profession, Dr. Smith uses an innovative process developed specifically to assist professionals, business leaders, CEOs and their organizations to achieve goals.

As an Executive Team Coach she uses a consultative coach approach to having teams raise their standards of innovative collaboration. Smith's mission is to be a partner with leaders who want to transform their leadership abilities to bridge the gap between professional achievement, personal significance...and legacy.

Dr. Smith worked for many years in the corporate arena in human resources, maintained a private consultancy, and currently serves as President of CoachWorks® International. As an experienced Executive Leader Coach specializing in leadership development and performance, Smith's clients are leaders from companies such as Tricon, IBM, Northern Telecom, Ford Motor Company, Levi Strauss, American Airlines, Baxter Healthcare, Oracle, Puget Sound Energy and Samson Oil.

Smith has co-authored numerous books and coaching programs and has assisted in establishing the standards, ethics and principles of the coaching profession. Dr. Smith co-authored the Professional Foundations for Masterful Coaches, the Coaching Clinic for Managers and Leaders©, the Personal Coaching Styles Inventory©, and the Executive's Professional Foundations Program©. Smith's collaborated with Rena Pederson (Dallas Morning News) in What's Next: Women Discovering Their Dreams in the Prime of Life (Published 2001). Dr. Smith also writes for professional journals (including a regular column in Washington CEO Magazine), articles, and white papers for ICF.

Lee has served as an adjunct Professor and guest lecturer at the University of Texas at Dallas Executive MBA Program, University of North Texas and Abilene Christian University. Smith participates regularly at national and international professional conferences as a showcased speaker. She has been featured in Newsweek, PBS Specials, the Dallas Morning News and Channel 5 News. She is a member of various boards including the Advisory Board of the University of North Texas, the board of Corporate Coach U and the Board of Directors of CoachInc.com. Dr. Smith is a native Texan and Dallasite, now happily transplanted in Seattle, Washington.

Lee holds one of the first international certifications as Master Certified Coach (with the International Coach Federation), and Corporate Business Coach. Smith's doctorate is in Organizational Behavior and Psychology, with an undergraduate degree in Business.
